Also, Musik aus,
Beim Russisch Roulette spielen,
Genau, wozu?
Ins Herz eurer Bacchanalien, eurer Raves, eurer Fiestas, eurer Feten.

Refrain

Just open your eyes and see
How far we’ve gone now
Just open your eyes and see
How deep we’ve fallen down
Just open your eyes
And say yes to the future

Nimm deine steinernen Tafeln

(Refrain)

More, more, more…future
(A future) beyond the statistics
(A future) beyond the politics
(A future) farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more, more, more…future

Nimm Deine Zither, Deine Lyra

(Refrain)

(Refrain)

ALSO SANG ZARATHUSTRA

Sagt mal…

(Refrain)

Also sang…
Also sang Zarathustra

I AM NOT AFRAID

I am not afraid of kicking in the anthill
Crashing parties is my speciality
So take off those tuxedos, those cufflinks and fancy bow ties
Remove those wigs, fake nails, false eyelashes and high-heels
Park your shiny limousines far from here with their big polluting engines
Get rid of that champagne and that caviar and turn off that music for amnesiacs

Ndombolo, coupé-décalé, rumba, zoblazo
Are all fine, but not at the expense of memory
So turn off the sound!

The time to laugh is over,
We don’t have the heart to show off anymore
We are Prometheus the arsonist
We are professional spoilsports
So like I said, turn off the sound!

We have no longer time…
We have no longer time…

So you want to know  about my programme?
Well, let’s look each other straight in the eye
And admit what good-for-nothing scum we’ve been

Then we’ll wring the neck of myths, lynch idols, burn icons alive
Unravel the dogmas  of self-satisfied systems
Make a fantastic noise and commotion, a divine mess!
Then start to deconstruct cosmogonies
That’s some plan, isn’t it?

We’ll introduce the apocalypse here and now, I’m telling you…
I’m not afraid of kicking in the anthill
Crashing parties is my speciality
So yank off those ties!
So far, we’ve been too lucky at Russian roulette, don’t you agree?

So why those smiles, those suits, the processions, all that applause
and acclaim?
Why those flowers, those rituals and parades, the flashy parties
and all that applause?
Why?

We’ll bring the apocalypse here and now, to your orgies, your raves, your fiestas
Because we are professional spoilsports
We are Prometheus the arsonist
Bringing the apocalypse free of charge, here and now

The time to laugh and joke is over
We don’t have the heart to play Russian roulette anymore
Like I said: turn off the sound!

TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS

Look, our ship is sinking

Meanwhile eyes closed, we’re still dancing the cha-cha-cha and the rumba of independence

On the tiny raft of our cosmetic democracies
Listen to us singing loud, singing the Ode to Joy off key

In our cities where hope has turned to rust
Yet we are the only ones still prancing on clouds made of smoke and dust

Just open your eyes and see
How far we’ve gone now
Just open your eyes and see
How deep we’ve fallen down

Just open your eyes
And say yes to the future

A future beyond the statistics
A future beyond the politics

A future farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more more more… future

Sense with me the aftertaste of nothingness that all those pyrrhic victories leave in our throats

All the medals won when tilting at windmills, phantom armies and moving shadows

In the tremolos of electric guitars on the streets, I hear the announcement  of grief and mourning

And our very dance steps are a procession to the tomb of our dreams
Look at our flags flying in the wind, clumsy fauvist paintings for the half-blind

Look at the twilight of idols, the death of ideologies

If only these comets don’t fall on our heads!

Look at you, brother, cheering for two fishes and a bowl of rice
Pyrrhic victories, twilight idols, and look… our ship is sinking

LIKE THE PROPHETS

We deserve more than the fleeting shadows of false promises
We deserve more than headlines and media compassion

More than the bogus happiness that dulls our minds
More than aid, we deserve justice
More than money, we deserve dignity
Rather than a glorious past, let us have a future

Take your stone tablets
And like all the prophets of old
Engrave the story of the future with letters of fire
And hang it on the dark walls of your prison

Grab your zither, your lyre
And like the singers of yore scoff at hail storms and thunder

Sing, yes, shout against the winds and the tides that after the flood,
a new future is possible

Dream your wildest dreams
And like the crazy prophets of old
From Memphis to Calcutta to Soweto and Congo
Keep the fire of desire burning in your heart
You will see it spring to life in the palm of your hand

Bring what you have in your hands
And with the prophets and builders of today
Dismantle the cobwebs of the present
For a future that is all the colours of the rainbow

A future that belongs to us, a future that looks like us

Because you deserve more than the fleeting shadows of false promises
More than headlines and media compassion
More than the bogus, more than money
You have the right to the future!

NOBODY KNOWS!

I do remember you, oh endless nights of Kinshasa, buried under mountains of cassava bread
Hidden behind a curtain aroma of Chilli roasted meat scent
Flooded in lager and liqueur
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

I do remember you, oh never-ending nights of Matonge
Spaghetti-shaped girls with their silicon breasts
And steroid-fed muscle-men in a hand-to-hand fight, all taken away
in a merciless vertigo
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

I do remember you, oh hot nights of Kin-the-beauty, the mirror-town
“We will drink till dawn, break glasses and pay nothing!”
We do whatever we can while it is still night
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

I do remember you, oh hot nights of Lipopoville, town of the magics
Que viva la musica!
The show must go on!
Here is the place where Africa is always celebrating
And carpe diem while it is still night
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

I do remember you, oh hot nights of Malebo, the borassus-planted city
“Happy are you, people who sing and dance!”
We do live on picking while it is still dark
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

I do remember how dark you are, nights of Kinshasa!
How easily you can get lost in these endless nights
How easily you lose your way in these labyrinth-nights
Among grey cats and dancing mice
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

But everything is so fragile in the lawless zone
No time left for questions like why or how
For already the day is breaking
To strip us of our hidden misery
Because nobody knows about tomorrow!

THUS SANG ZARATHUSTRA

When the rainbow has risen above cold bodies
Left behind by the downpours of war
When the sun went down beyond the savannah upon a field
covered with white crosses
When the eyes have spread all their tears
And souls have prayed all their gods
When the sky has given up all its rain, all its stars
And hell has vomited fires and ghosts

Thus sang Zarathustra:
“Sing, oh Zarathustra, and let your songs blast like a storm!
Heal your soul with new songs ”

When the word justice has been spoken and politics claims it as its own
When all the apologies, all the wishes have been made
And every curse and blessing has been heard

When all the requiems, all the hallelujahs have been sung
And the temples’ candles have melted away

Say, is there is hope left for tomorrow?
Say, is there any future?
Will there ever be a crack in this dead-end universe?
Or shall we for ages seat at Zarathustra’s feet impassively observing
the endless return of everything
Watching the eternal hourglass of the existence being turned over and over?
Tell me…

When all desires thinkable and unthinkable will be satisfied
And on himself, the Don Juan’s trap will close up
When all the marathons of all the Olympics will be run
And the medals from every arenas will be won

When even to the moon we will reach out
And all its honey will be sucked
When powerful our words will stop the running of the sun and
divine our hands raise the dead

When our own’s and even others’ crosses on our shoulders will be carried
When boredom will have united us, hedgehogs,
And we will end slaughtering one another with our spines
When Zarathustra will exhaust all his songs
And that the voice of the fire and of the breath will be silenced

Please tell me… Will there ever be a future?
Will some days some kind of hope rise from somewhere?
Will there ever be a crack on this dead end universe?
Or shall we for ages seat at Zarathustra’s feet impassively observing the endless return of everything

Watching the eternal hourglass of the existence being turned over and over.
Tell me…

When we will turn a new page and even the pages behind
When we will seal the Great Book
Still will remain the unknown infinite
As well as the eternally new songs…

TEXTES DE   ”MORE, MORE, MORE...FUTURE !”

Garez loin d’ici vos limousines rutilantes
Et vos grosses cylindrées polluantes
Remballez vos champagnes, vos caviars
Alors, enlevez vos cravates
Eh bien oui, pourquoi donc

Refrain

Just open your eyes and see
How far we’ve gone now
Just open your eyes and see
How deep we’ve fallen down
Just open your eyes
And say yes to the future

More, more, more…future
A future beyond the statistics
A future beyond the politics
A futur farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more, more, more…future

Tu as droit au future

More, more, more…future
A future beyond the statistics
A future beyond the politics
A futur farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more, more, more…future

A FUTURE YOU DESERVE

We deserve more than the vanishing shadows of delusions
We deserve more than headlines and media compassion
More than the ersatz of happiness that blind our minds
More than assistance, we deserve justice
More than money, we deserve dignity
More than a glorious past, we long for a future

Grab your tablets of stone
And like all those prophets of times of long ago
Let you write down with letters of fire the story of
Your future, and hang it on the walls of your jail

More, more, more…future
A future beyond the statistics
A future beyond the politics
A future farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more, more, more…future

Grab your zither, your lyre
And like the singers of times of long ago
Let you sing while scoffing at thunders and hail storms
Let you sing, yes, let you shout against all odds
That after the flood another future is possible

Grab your dreams the craziest
And like all those crazy prophets of yesterday
From Alabama to Calcutta through Soweto and the Congo
Let you keep alight the desires of your heart
Until you squeeze them into your very hands

Because  you deserve more than the vanishing shadows of delusions
More than the headlines and media compassion
More than ersatz and more than  assistance
You deserve a future
More, more, more…future
A future beyond the statistics
A future beyond the politics
A future farther than the Milky Way
A future in our own way
Yes, more, more, more…future
