André Naddeo is a 37-year-old Brazilian journalist, video maker and activist. He left his country and media standard behind in April, 2016, to create the concept of what he calls “volunteering journalism”. Naddeo created two independent projects (@Drawfugees and @IAmImmigrantWorld) in order to give an independent voice to refugees and migrants - providing them language, photo and video classes. He has lived and worked on the ground in Athens, Greece (Syrian, Afghan and Iranian refugees) and Boa Vista, Brazil (Venezuelans migrants). Now he is based in Rome, dealing with the cruel reality that Sub-Saharan migrants face in Italy.
